THE WoS PERFORMANCE
Wolves of Sutor is a classic blues/rock quartet of experienced musicians creating a powerhouse group dedicated to reviving music from the 1960s and 1970s – the decades of innocence and creativity.
The set remembers classic blues standards from the ‘Kings of Blues’ and others and presents upbeat and accessible rock adaptations from the likes of Nazareth, Free, The Who, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, amongst others. Some shows include a short interval of unplugged acoustic tracks, after which the set then continues, and with a sprinkling of powerful, complex and compelling sounds from the Led Zeppelin archive. This rock revival show is a family-friendly event suitable for all age groups; either those re-discovering the sounds of their youth, or those born into the modern era developing a love for real live blues and rock, played by four highly accomplished musicians, faithfully bringing the sounds to life.
What inspired the name Wolves of Sutor?
The name Wolves of Sutor has a rather long and cheeky origin in the phrase “The Dog’s B****cks”. The final word, which modesty forbids us to make explicit, leads to “cobblers” and ‘Sutor’ is the name of each of a pair of mythical sentinels (giant shoemakers) at the mouth of the Cromarty Firth.
What genres do you play?
We primarily play blues and rock music, blending classic influences with our unique sound. Our goal is to revive lesser-known tracks while creating original music that resonates with our audience.
Where can I listen to your music?
You can listen to our music live at selected local venues or hear showcase tracks here on our official website.
Where is your Facebook page?
There is no Facebook page, nor any other social media for Wolves of Sutor which is a ‘word of mouth’ band keeping to the spirit of the times from which our music comes. To ‘like’ us, which we hope you will, come along to a show.
